Recensión al libro: Ríos Vega, L y Spigno, I. (Dirs.). Esquivel Alonso, Y. (Coord.), Estudios de casos líderes nacionales y extranjeros Vol. XXII, La muerte ciudadana en América y Europa. Un debate contemporáneo, Ciudad de México, Tirant lo Blanch, 2021, 399 pp.

The work “Civil death in America and Europe. A contemporary debate”, consists of eleven chapters in which problems and cases resolved by national courts of different countries and supranational instances are discussed; regarding the deprivation of people of the ability to participate in political life due to suspension, disqualification, or the impossibility of exercising civil and political rights due to judicial convictions for offenses against the public interest constitutes a reference framework for reflection on the justification or reasons for limiting one of the essential qualities of the modern concept of citizenship. Each of the contributions allows us to reflect on the importance of guaranteeing people’s political rights.
