Strengthening democracy and presidentialism in the recent experience of South American countries

The paper analyzes how the strengthening of the electoral democracy in the countries of South America has also supposed the reinforcing of the presidentialism, demonstrated in the constitutional incorporation of the possibility of immediate presidential re-election in most of countries of the region.
